About HKSIEM

Welcome to the Hong Kong Society of Inborn Errors of Metabolism (HKSIEM). The field of metabolic medicine is rapidly expanding involving new diseases, new biomarkers and new treatment strategies. Our Council has the privilege to involve professionals from different (sub)specialties including paediatricians, adult physician, clinical geneticist, obstetrician, pathologists and dietitian. Through our academic meetings and other educational activities, we sincerely hope to promulgate metabolic medicine to various sectors within the healthcare system and the public, from clinical service to research, diagnosis to treatment and newborn screening to transitional and adult care. Though this is a challenging endeavour, let’s join hand and hand for the best interests of our patients and families!
